SPE’s Additives & Color Europe Division Board meets at our Head Office in Barcelona, Spain
Last Monday 14th of November the Board of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE)’s Additives & Color Europe Division (ACE) gathered at Nubiola’s Head Office in Barcelona to carry out a Wrap-Up meeting of the 2011 ACE activities. The focus of the meeting was to extensively review the outcome of the 7th European Additives & Colors Conference held last 16th-17th March in Königswinter-Bonn, Germany. The two-day event was attended by around 115 people from different companies throughout the Plastics value chain from all around Europe, i.e. raw materials suppliers, color concentrate houses, compounders, converters and OEM. The conference focused on presenting the latest technical papers related to Additives and Colorants for Plastics applications. Key industry players such as Volkswagen, the Plastics Europe organization, Nitto, BASF, Merck, Dupont, Milliken, BYK and many more (up to 21 papers) presented their views, novelties and applications works. The Conference Program was highly rated by attendees, who mostly agreed to have received “value for money” and confirmed that they will repeat at the next edition initially scheduled for 6th-7th March 2013.
The second most important topic on the agenda was to officially elect the ACE Board up to 2013:
- Chair: Bert Vanhaecht (Dupont)
- Chair-elect: Alex Capuz (Nubiola)
- Technical Programme Chair: Luc Van Aken (Sibelco)
- Secretary/Treasurer: Yetty Pauwels (SPE ACE Division)
- Councilor till June 2013 & P/R: Roberto Todesco (Sabo)
- Membership & P/R: Tom Mestdag (Shepherd)
After the meeting, we invited all the Board members to visit our Corporate Laboratory in Barcelona, where 33 technical specialists work on R&D and Applications projects. The visit ended with a lunch in a restaurant located in the heart of Barcelona.
